October 25th, 2009

Some good bass action in the surf on live clams on the last hour of the incoming and plugging at night. Dan Tholen and Matt Stephens teamed up Tuesday night on IBSP to catch 7 fish up to 34" on clams. Outside trolling Tony Maja Bunker Spoons #4 in green and white was the hot ticket as well as pearl shad rigs in 60' of water off the Bathing Beach. Inside drifting eels and fresh clams along the Sod Banks are producing some quality fish.

October 22nd, 2009

Some great reports of bass in the surf on clams on IBSP and LBI with a bunch of dogfish and skates mixed in as well. Bass are being taken on bunker spoons and shad rigs in 60-65' of water off the bathing beach on IBSP. 12+ blues are hitting the spoons as well but seem to be leaving the shads alone for the most part.

Sea Bass fishing is doing well on the Axel Carlson Reef with about a 3;1 keeper ratio with some big tog mixed in.

October 21st, 2009

Some nice bass in the surf on IBSP hitting clams and plugs at night. I hit IBSP last night and had 7 fish up to 34" all on salted clams.

October 18th, 2009

Some schoolie sized bass being taken at the Sod Banks at night on eels. Surf action was improving this past week with some nice blues being caught on mullet and bunker. Weakfish and croakers are still thick out in the ocean and hitting Gulp! swimming mullets.

October 12th, 2009

Got some great reports of weakies in the Bay south of the BB Buoy. Much better keeper ratio then the fishing outside in the ocean. Fish were hitting shedder crabs and new penny Gulp! shrimps.

October 11th, 2009

Blowfishing slowed down a lot this past week with the cooler temperatures. There are some to be caught but most have left. There has been some good weakfishing out front of the inlet in 30' of water on white and pink Gulp! swim mullets on high low rigs. Bluefish are all over the huge bunker schools up and down IBSP and LBI.

October 7th, 2009

BLOWFISH!

That's all I can say is blowfish! They are everywhere between the BB and BI Buoys still and are some good eats too!

Weakfish are piling up both inside and outside of the Bay and hitting on high/low rigs tipped with pink Gulp! swim mullets and plastics. Bass fishing is improving everyday and in no time the big cows will be here attacking the huge schools of bunker that are everywhere.

October 3rd, 2009

Schoolie stripers are being caught over at the Sod Banks at night on eels and clams. In the Bay small bass are being picked up near Oyster Creek on white Fin-S-Fish and plugs.

Blowfishing is still producing between the BB and BI Buoys. Chumming heavy is the key as well as double anchoring.

Even with the closure of Federal seabass, fishing has been great within the 3-mile line. Barnegat Light Reef has been producing some nice fish, many over 15".

September 27th, 2009

Blowfishing is still on fire in the Bay. Chumming heavy and clams and squid have been producing some nice catches. Porgies, kingfish, and small sea bass are mixed in as well. Outside it's small sea bass at the Tires, Range Buoy, and wrecks with a few keepers too. Blues are patrolling the surf and some big fish to 15lbs are being caught.

September 13th, 2009

Blowfishing is still hot, hot, hot! Double anchor between the BB and BI Buoy with clam chum and you will fill the buckets up in no time! Small weakies and kingfish are mixed in as well.

August 31st, 2009

Weakfish are really starting to show up with fish over 4lbs being caught on Gulp! Shrimp jigged on a bucktail East of the BB Buoy. Blowfish is on fire, just make sure to chum heavy and clams were the go to bait. Fluke fishing is good inside near the "cut" on squid and killies. Live peanuts are getting the keepers though, so make sure to give it one more shot before Friday!

August 29th, 2009

Getting some good reports of some great blowfish fishing in the Bay near the BB Buoy and the Rt 37 Bridge. Chum heavy with clam chum and use small pieces of clams for bait. Kingfish, weakfish, and blues are all mixed in as well.

Bluefish are all over the Bay and outside. Weaks are really starting to show up now and got reports of many 4+ pound fish on plastics.

August 22th, 2009

Blowfish and Weaks are starting to show, hopefuly they will be here in full force!

August 16th, 2009

Fluke fishing is still hot both inside and out with a better keeper ratio outside. Killies and a fresh strip bait are putting the big ones in the box. Barnegat Light Reef is holding a ton of fish as is the Bathing Beach in about 35' of water.

Sam Della Sala caught this keeper 23" fluke fishing just south of the BLR on our boat. The fish hit a white Spro Bucktail with a killie/bluefish strip sandwich!

August 9th, 2009

Fluke fishing really picked up, but you have to weed thru the shorts to get some keepers. The Tires and The Ridge are all producing well but the Bathing Beach had the best keeper ratio. Inside Double Creek Channel was the hot spot on Gulp Belly Strips in white. The Ridge is still giving up some bonitos and blues on the troll.

August 1st, 2009

Fluke action is still slow in the Bay but outside is picking up at the Ridge and The Tires. Squid/killie sandwiches are producing but White Spro's tipped with a 4" Gulp Swim Mullet in Chartreuse are catching bigger fish.

Sea Bass fishing is also still doing well at the inshore wrecks along with some ling and fluke. Weakfish are slowly showing up in the Bay near the BB and BI Buoys on pink Fin-S-Fish and Gulp Jerk Shads.

July 12th, 2009

Some great fluke reports from the Barnegat Ridge on killie/squid combo and jigging white Spro Bucktails tipped with mackerel strips.

June 27th, 2009

Keeper fluke are still being caught outside at the Tires. Chuck Tomlin brought in a fluke that topped the scales at 7.75 pounds. He caught on a spearing and squid combo at the Range Buoy. Inside Double Creek is still the hot spot for fluke. Chartruese Gulp! Swim Minnows are producing the biggest fluke.

Seabass fishing is still doing good at the local wrecks and at the Tires on clams and Procut Squid Strips.

Bass fishing seems to have moved south off Harvery Cedars and LBI. Drop and Snag bunker for the best hookups.

June 20th, 2009

Matt Pacione just weighed in a 6.80# fluke. He caught it in DCC on a fluke rig tipped with a killie/Gulp! Swim Mullet combo!

June 19th, 2009

Blues are all over the Barnegat Ridge. Many fish are in the 5-6 pound range but some fish are topping the scales at 13+.

Kingfish are in the Bay right now and we are getting some great reports of some big fish caught near the BB Buoy. Chum heavy with clam chum and use small squid peices and clam on kingfish rigs. You will also get some fluke, blowfish, bluesfish, and weaks!

June 15th, 2009

Bass fishing really turned on again this weekend. There is a ton of bunker out there but trolling bunker spoons is your best bet. We had several big fish weighed in this week up to 38 lbs. Also got report that Capt John from Seafood Charters got a 50 lb bass trolling a chartreuse Tony Maja Bunker Spoon. White and Green spoons were also producing as well.

Fluke fishing is doing very well at the tires and the snot grass has seemed to go away making flukeing in the Bay better. Many fish in the 5 lb range have been caught both inside and out. Spearing, killies, squid, and GULP! are all producing with a 4" pink GULP! swimming mullet on white Spro bucktails working the best.

Seabass are also doing very well at the tires and many of the wrecks too. Bluefish are all over the Ridge with many fish over 12 lb.

June 7th, 2009

Fluke fishing is picking up in the Barnegat Inlet, and Oyster Creek Channel. The snot grass seems to be going away and really isn't too much of a propblem anymore. The tires are also producing a lot of fluke too. Killies, spearing, and Procut Squid Strips were the baits of choice.

June 1st, 2009

Bass action is still hot outside from the Bathing Beach all the way up past Lavalette. Snagging bunker and letting the drop down or live-lineing them has really producing some cows this week. On the days were the bunker is not on the surface, trolling seems to be working well. Green, white, and Multicolored Tony Maja Bunker Spoons are the hot item this week.

Fluking still is slow but it picking up and the snot grass seems to be going away. Fish are being picked up in Myers Hole and by the Lighthouse inside and outside at the Tires. Bucktails tipped with a couple of spearing were the ticket.

Weakfishing are being caught at Berkley Island State Park on the left side of the pier. Get some live grass shrimp, cast it out with a bobber, and you can catch all the fish you want at dusk and dawn.

May 25th, 2009

This Memorial Day may have been one of the best striper fishing days we have ever seen. Tons of bass all in the 30# class range. There were huge schools of bunker and all you had to do is snag and drop. We weighed nin a dozen fish all 30 plus pounds and the largest was 42#.

May 22nd, 2009

12:44pm - Just had Ron Karchik weigh in a 40# Striped Bass trolling off the Bathing Beach.

We have been getting some great reports of bass outside on the troll. Green/Chartruese Secret Spoons and the Green TGT Bunker Spoons seems to be the most productive colors that past few days. Many guys have been going out and limiting out on large bass in the 30+ range! Also had a 29# bass weighed in yesterday caught off the bathing beach on a snagged bunker.

Ron Leard weighed in a 3.50# Sea Bass on Wednesday.

Reports of some big fluke caught should lead to a very productive opening weekend. We are fully stocked with killies, squid, ProCut Squid Strips, sandeels, spearing, and more!

Bluefish seem to be all over the bay right now in big numbers. Most fish are around 4 pounds and trolling and casting Ava Jigs is producing well.

May 17th, 2009

Trolling for Stripers really picked up this week. Big bass are being caught in 45-60' of water North of BI. Better reports were coming in off of the Ferris Wheel. Green Bunker Spoons and Pink Stretch's were the go to baits this weekend.

May 9th, 2009

Bass fishing is really heating up. We had regular Dick D in today and he weighed a 12.25# bass on the scale. Him and his buddies caught 6 keepers on liver herring near the inlet. Also have reports of tons of bait outside the inlet all the way up north to Seaside Park. Most likely sandeels so the bass and blues should really be getting good soon!

May 8th, 2009

Well the rain has finally seemed to stop and guys are getting out. It is supposed to be beautiful today, OK tomorrow with some rain in the morning, and windy on Sunday. Even with the rain we still got a few reports on some weakfish and a lot of bluefish around. Weaks seem to be in a different spot everyday. Heard of a big 14+ pound fish caught in the near Bayville somewhere. Blues seem to be everywhere in the 4 pound range. Trolling pony tails seems to be producing the best right now between the BB and BI Buoys.

May 4th, 2009

With the rain and cooler weather things really seemed to slow down. Got some reports of bluefish all over the Bay but they seemed to really be moving around and spotty. Heard a few pciked up trolling between the BB and BI on Pony Tails and Krocadiles. Most fish are in the 3-5 pound range.

Weakfish are very slowly picking up. We went out a few nights ago and got one fish around 4 pounds that lived to see another day. Got him on a white Spro bucktail with a pink Gulp jerk bait. Had a few reports further south near the Rt72 Bridge of fish being caught on Rattle-Traps and bucktails.

Seems like most of the stripers around are on the small size. Herring was the ticket over near the inlet over the weekend. Clams seem to be working better on the flats in 5-7' of water. Also heard of one 29" fish caught off the bridge at Oyster Creek but wouldn't give up the bait of choice.

May 1st, 2009

Winter flounder seemed to really slowed down this week. Still getting some reports in, but they are not as good as last week. Most reports are spotty and only a few keepers per trip.

Weakfish and bluefish have shown up and it will only get better. Heard some big fish caught near Oyster Creek and off Barnegat. Blues are being caught near the inlet and we ran into a school a few days ago near the BB Bouy with some birds working them.

Stripers are picking up as well on the flats and outside. Clams seem to be the best bait and poppers are doing well too.

April 24th, 2009

Got few more good reports of winter flounder off Bayville in 8' of water this morning. Big news is some good reports of blues and weaks at the mouth of Oyster Creek on poppers and pink Fin-S-Fish. Also heard the flats are producing bluefish as well.

The warm weekend should warm the waters a bit. They seem to be hovering around 50-51* now.

April 23rd, 2009

Got some great reports of winter flounder caught just off the Water's Edge Resturant in Bayville. We had a few guys limit out on bloodworms, clam chum, and mussels. Water depths were 7'. Other areas have beeing producing but not as well such as Oyster Creek and a few hundred yards south of the BB Buoy.

Stripers really seem to be picking up in Oyster Creek again. Bloodworms and clams seem to be the ticket down there. Sod banks and the flats near Mud Channel are getting better as well.

Also heard a few reports of weakfish and blues near Oyster Creek. Hopefully we will see some caught over the weekend with the nice weather comeing up!
